Your First Driving Lesson

It’s the holidays, almost everyone is at home with family; big brothers and big sisters are around to give you endless gist about the happenings in their places of work, everything is just so much fun… And you have decided to learn to drive this holiday, at least you’re of age already, maybe big brother or uncle already promised to teach you, and all you’re waiting for now, is to hear him say; “let’s go out together”…

Well, we want to make sure you don’t do badly on your first day, so we got some tips to help you with:

Let’s get started

1. Read All You Can About Driving.

Knowledge, they say, is power. Before you get behind the wheels of the vehicle, it is best to have read a lot of relevant information about driving, google has so much information for you to use. Another thing you can do is to watch videos, all  these will help prepare you for driving.

One book you should read before going on your first drive is ” The Nigerian Highway Code”. The Highway code is a book put together by specialists on driving and road usage, and it contains almost all information relating to the road; from rules on driving, meaning of road signs, rules on parking, even down to pedestrian information.

In short, try to know a lot about driving and road usage, because, driving isn’t just about moving a car.

2. Get Your Learner’s Permit

Your learner’s permit is easily procurable once you’re of age and comes with two “L” caution signs to be attached on your vehicle.

These caution signs like a gun in your hands, it tells every other driver to stay clear of you because you’re a “Lion On The Road”.

Its major function is just to inform other drivers that you are not yet an expert and it will help them make their decisions.

P.S: Some people do say that they can not use the “L” signs on their cars, well, just so you know, using it doesn’t in anyway reduce you, it just describes your present driving status; “You’re someone who is learning to drive and learning the right way”

3. Arrive Well Rested And Alert.

Despite the fact that festivities might be going on around you, and the your brothers and sisters who you might have unending gists for, if you must learn to drive, you have to rest well the night before, and alcohol is a no-go area.

4.Wear Suitable And Comfortable Clothes and Shoes

When driving, you need to be very comfortable and free from all distractions, even your clothes and shoes should be comfortable.

Don’t go wearing tight fitting clothes that will make it difficult to move your body, and also don’t go wearing extremely large clothes that will get in your way when you try to reach the controls. That’s why you will notice that people who drive a lot will love to wear Jeans and T-shirts.

As for shoes, don’t wear heels or thick-soled shoes, comfortable flat shoes or slip-ons should do the job just fine because you don’t want a situation where your shoe will get in the way of you pressing a pedal.

5. Your Glasses!

If you use glasses, don’t forget to take them with you. It is of utmost importance that you see clearly, so that you can assess every situation right.

Getting Behind The Wheel

6. Establish A Comfortable Sitting Position.

When driving, as was earlier said, it is important to be comfortable, and this also pertains to your sitting position. You must be seated such that all controls are easily within your reach:

1. Your feet must be able to press all three pedals to the ground without you shifting on your seat

2. Your wrists should be able to reach the top of the steering wheel while your back is still on the chair.

Know that the seating position at the start of your driving will most likely be what you’ll stick with, so start on a good note.

(CG lock is a performance upgrade that increases the performance of your seat belt to have more holding power, almost comparable to that of a racing seat belt)

7. Relax.

Getting behind the wheels of an automobile can be scary; there’s a lot of information you have to process and put together, and all you’re thinking of is “what if it all goes wrong?’… But at this point, it will do you a lot of good to calm your nerves, and relax.

Though it looks like a lot, you just need to do what you’re told, practice, after some time. it will start to feel natural, and after some time, it will become natural.

Don”t be like her!!

The other end of the coin is overconfidence. Nothing pisses off an instructor more than this, and it is also the leading cause of accidents, both for learners and experts. The fact that you’ve read books and watched videos doesn’t mean you know better than your instructor, all you know is theory, he’s been doing practicals for a while, so don’t go and disgrace yourself.

Be swift to hear, but be slow to speak!

8. You’re In Safe Hands

Driving school the driver and the woman in the car. Husband helps his wife to drive

Don’t be afraid to turn the engine on… You have an instructor there to interfere if anything goes wrong, always remember that.

9. Ask Questions Like Your Life Depends On It

That’s  because it does! Ask a lot of questions. If you don’t understand anything, no matter how stupid, don’t be afraid, just ask!

That’s why you have an instructor, he’s there to help you learn.

N.B: Don’t teach yourself to drive without any supervision on your first day, this is for your safety and that of everyone around. It might have worked for some people, but to be safe and to learn right, don’t!!!

We sincerely hope you have a lot of fun on your first drive, Godspeed!

Say what temperature is better and why. Maybe say where you get your information. Is it based on your experience, the recommendations of the Chocolate Storage Association, or just your own wild guess? Make a point.
At that temperature, the chocolate will go bad.” Really, all you’ve said is “You’re wrong.” You need to say *why* the temperature is wrong.

  10. 바카라사이트

Make sure you include the reason you disagree. It’s easier than you think to avoid making a point. Consider the comment “You’re spreading lies by saying the ideal temperature for chocolate storage is 28 degrees.
Why is it wonderful? Why did you love it? It’s even more important to make a point when you disagree. It’s a waste of time to just write “You’re wrong,” or a longer ranting equivalent.

  11. 카지노사이트

Sure, most bloggers will lap up short comments like “Wonderful!” “I love it!” and “Thank you,” and if all you want to do is express gratitude or brighten their day, comments like that are fine, but you’ll make a more lasting impression and a more meaningful contribution to the conversation if you say a bit more.
I shouldn’t have to tell you this, but comments that start out “You’re an idiot,” are laced with profanity, or are just plain disrespectful, undermine the authority of your argument. Nobody gives much credence to an obnoxious troll. So aside from the pleasure you get from annoying people, you’re wasting your time writing such comments. Always remember there is a real person reading your comment. It’s easy to be mean while hiding behind the anonymity of the Web, but you shouldn’t say anything you wouldn’t say in person.

  12. 카지노사이트

For example, instead of just starting out “Humidity is important too!” it’s helpful if you start with some context like “User Squiggly1234 has a point about chocolate storage temperature, but has missed one important variable” and then go on to talk about humidity. That way other commenters won’t be confused as to why you started talking about bad hair weather on a post about chocolate.
I know as you’re writing your comment *you* know what you’re responding to—maybe it’s the article or video or maybe it’s someone else’s comment, but when people come to the page later and read the comments, it isn’t always immediately clear what you’re talking about. It’s most important to provide context when there are a lot of comments. If comments are coming in really fast, for example, yours can get separated from the comment to which you’re responding.
